About Me

I am a single woman living out in the burbs that has a survivalist instinct.  I don’t necessarily think the world is ending, nor do I think that I will be hunting down wild boar with my bear hands anytime soon.  With all of the news going on, inflation, the devaluation of the dollar, I am a concerned.  I simply want to mitigate what I can and go about and enjoy my life the best that I can.

My blog isn’t necessarily a political statement, but I feel like I was born in the wrong time period at times.  All of my life I have loved to do things like make homemade soap, garden, can vegetables.  I realized that when I got excited about getting wheat berries and grinding them into my own flour, perhaps I should write about this.  Growing up one of my favorite books was Back to Basics.  I hate to tell you how often I scanned the book for information about how to raise chickens (I have raised chickens), how to build root cellars, how to pickle your own vegetables.

My enjoyment of these types of hobbies has only grown over the years.  I get some weird looks when I tell people about my little hobbies.  I hope that I can get you excited about some of the things I can enjoy.  I hope I can help you save money, and mitigate risk that we may have currently.  I also hope that you will share with me your ideas and thoughts on what we can do to enhance our survivalists skills.  Maybe one day you can share with me your skills on hunting down a wild boar with your bare hands.
